WNDR Alpine Reason 120
The WNDR Alpine Reason 120 is WNDR’s powder flagship, however its design helps it perform in a variety of conditions. A medium flex and the Algal Core (A composite of vertically laminated, domestically sourced aspen sandwiched between high-density, algal polyurethane stringers.) creates a ski profile that skis like an alpine ski, yet tours like a touring ski. The Reason weighs in at (per ski): 2080 grams/4.8 pounds @ 184cm length
WNDR has embraced biotechnology with the construction of its skis. Long chain carbons derived from algae are the base of the polyurethane used in their ski construction. The WNDR Alpine Reason 120 uses algal technology in both the core and the sidewalls.
Algal Wall sidewalls are made utilizing a proprietary biobased cast polyurethane, engineered to improve edge hold and stability, while also increasing bondline strength over traditional materials, all while improving biobased content and durability over last year’s Algal Wall. Algal Wall utilizes a novel manufacturing technique that diverts plastic waste from the landfill compared to ABS plastic sidewalls. Biobased carbon content 67.89% by ASTM D6866. Biobased Super Sap® technology replaces traditional petroleum-based resin systems. We use Entropy Resins® to minimize the carbon footprint of our products. The certified bio-based content per ASTM D6866 of the ER-305 Resin is ~28%.
Nimble and big underfoot
At 120mm under foot, the Reason is a a pow smashing machine. However its side-cut helps it turn with ease when desired.
