The Lyngen Alps of northern Norway are an iconic playground for backcountry skiers and splitboarders, offering dramatic descents from alpine summits straight to the sea. Surrounded by Arctic waters, this rugged peninsula delivers the quintessential Norwegian ski touring experience—steep peaks, expansive glaciers, and endless lines framed by fjords.

Stretching roughly 90 kilometers long and 20 kilometers wide, the Lyngen Alps boast remarkable terrain diversity. The range’s highest peak, Jiehkkevarri (1,833 m), towers above a landscape filled with glaciers, narrow couloirs, wide-open bowls, and even tree skiing at lower elevations. Add in the glow of the midnight sun and the chance to witness the aurora borealis, and you have a ski touring destination unlike anywhere else on the planet.
