The Lofoten Islands Backcountry skiing and Splitboarding Experience is a small group backcountry skiing / split-boarding experience in Norway’s Lofoten Islands.
Ski touring in Lofoten offers an unparalleled vacation experience. Picture fjords lined with rugged peaks emerging straight from the sea. These mountains, soaring up to 1200 meters, boast diverse terrain ranging from steep couloirs to expansive bowls.
March is the prime time for skiing in Lofoten, as winter transitions into spring. With the long arctic light, you’ll enjoy a panoramic juxtaposition of mountain and ocean views. There’s a good chance you’ll get to see the mesmerizing northern lights too.
A comfortable house will be the base for the trip. Each day, we’ll embark on thrilling ski tours across the region. Due to an excellent road network, we’ll have endless options for starting our ski days. Expect daily drives to different fjords, where we’ll ascend the surrounding mountains for unforgettable ski tours and descents.

Picture yourself atop Tafeltindena peak in the Lyngen Alps, north of the Arctic Circle. As you gaze down at the fjord, shimmering in the sunlight below, you feel the anticipation building within you. You carve through untouched snow, arcing turns under the ethereal glow of the late afternoon sun. .
The Lyngen Alps are an iconic haven for backcountry skiing enthusiasts in the northern reaches of Norway. Surrounded by arctic waters, this peninsula offers quintessential Norwegian skiing experiences, from summit to fjord.
Stretching approximately 90 kilometers in length and 20 kilometers in width, the Lyngen Alps feature a diverse landscape.The tallest peak in the range is Jiehkkevarri, towering proudly at 1833 meters above sea level. There are plenty of options for ski touring in the Lyngen Alps, glaciers, vertiginous couloirs, gentle bowls, and even opportunities for tree skiing at lower elevations. All this, set against a backdrop of fjords, the enchanting dance of the midnight sun, and the ethereal spectacle of the aurora borealis.
