Slocan Backcountry Skiing
Slocan backcountry skiing is some of the finest skiing you’ll find on the Powder Highway. We get consistent snowfall through out the winter and there is an excellent variety of terrain, from well spaced trees to incredible alpine features. The Village of Slocan is nestled at the south end of Slocan Lake between the Valhalla and Kokanee Glacier and Goat Range Provincial Parks. We hold permits to operate commercially within them.
Small group ski touring and private guiding
Our Slocan backcountry skiing and splitboarding program delivers a unique and personalized experience. We offer comfortable accommodations our Slocan Village cottage for up to four people (Two bedrooms with two queen beds). Bookings for the cottage can be made directly through us.
Basing out of Slocan is a step away from the bustle of busy ski towns like Revelstoke or Nelson; there is no scene and there are no crowds. But there is a restaurant and the village market where you can get groceries and tons of untracked powder. For groups who really want to kick back and relax after skiing, we can provide catering as well.
Depending upon the experience you seek, we can access touring zones along the highway or via snowmobile. Groups can choose to bring their own sleds or we can provide them for you.
This is a highly customizable package so please contact us for details and pricing!
KOOTENAY BACKCOUNTRY SKI CAMP FOR ENDURANCE ATHLETES
Kootenay Backcountry Skiing and Training Camp
We’re excited to partner with Svein Tuft to offer Kootenay Backcountry Ski and Endurance Athlete Training Camps January 20-26 and January 28-Feb 3, 2025. The Tuft’s cozy log cabin, just outside of Nelson, BC, will be our base for the week.
Days will start with a morning mobility session followed by a hearty and nutritious breakfast prepared by our private chef. You’ll have access to a lunch buffet for your touring food.
Once everyone is packed up and ready to roll, we’ll head to trailhead for our daily ski touring objective. After a solid day of sampling Kootenay coldsmoke powder, we’ll make our way back to the Tuft’s Refugio where our private chef will have appies waiting for us.
We’ll enjoy fireside dinners and hangs with Svein where he’ll share insights on fitness and his endeavours as an endurance athlete.
