Our tent based, backcountry basecamps and traverses will take you deep into the backcountry. Basecamps are heli or snowmobile accessed programs, optimally positioned deep in the mountains and designed to maximize your downhill time.
A deep backcountry experience, but with a daypack!
We provide heated group basecamp tents, all cooking gear, meals and can provide private sleeping tents.
Basecamps and traverses are some of the highlights of our winters. We love to explore remote zones far off the beaten path. We offer a variety of backcountry basecamps in prime remote locations each winter. We can also create the experience you seek if you have a location or plan in mind. Contact us for details!
2023 Basecamps
Multi-day backcountry skiing with a daypack!
Helicopter accessed remote backcountry touring basecamps. Every year we select a handful of prime ski /splitboard mountaineering venues for our backcountry basecamp program. They are designed to deliver the ultimate backcountry experience. We a heated group basecamp tent and cooking equipment. Private sleeping tents can also be arranged if you don’t have one.
Listed below are potential venues and approximate prices for the respective trips. Flight time will dictate the exact pricing, thus prices could be less or more than what is listed.
Our pricing is based on small groups, eg. Max group size of four clients and one guide. This is designed to give you the best experience possible. There’s nothing better than being deep in the mountains and riding with a small group. If you have a larger group of friends we can accommodate that as well.
If you have a group that would like to do a snowmobile accessed basecamp, we can provide that too.

April 22-27, 2023
Flying from an undisclosed location in BC to a remote location (To be Decided, based on conditions.) The camp will be set up in a venue that will provide excellent access to big, glaciated, north facing terrain—the key elements for an incredible spring ski and splitboard trip.
This camp is designed to operate as a course format, whereby participants will learn navigation, rope management, improve their decision making process, develop a stronger sense of terrain/group management and generally become more well rounded mountain travellers in big terrain.
This a small group trip with a 4:1 client to guide ratio.

Itinerary
April 21, 2023- Meet in at departure location in BC. Welcome dinner and meet and greet your trip companions.
April 22- Fly into camp location, set up camp, avalanche safety briefing and warm up ski.
April 22-27-Ski objectives around the camp.
April 27- Breakdown camp and fly back to Golden.
March and April is the window for these trips.

South Coast Basecamp-
Helicopter accessed three to five day basecamp programs starting from Whistler, Squamish and Pemberton. Explore the high country of the Sea to Sky corridor. Glaciated peaks, a deep snowpack and distinctly rideable terrain, make these trips special. The Tantalus Range, Elaho, Mystery Creek and the Manatee Group are all possibilities.

Kootenay Basecamps-
Helicopter accessed three to five day basecamp programs starting from Nelson, Slocan, Kaslo and Nakusp. Come explore some of the best skiing and splitboarding in the Kootenays.

Columbia Mountain Basecamps-
Our Columbia mountain backcountry basecamps are four day basecamps take place in the Monashee, Selkirk Cariboo and Purcell mountains. Venues like, the Valhallas, the Horshoe Glacier in the Purcells, Moberley Pass and Bachelor Pass in the Selkirks, Mount Sir Wilfrid Laurier area in the Cariboos and Frisby Creek in the Northern Monashees are all on the list. These basecamps are accessed via helicopter from Golden, Revelstoke or Valemount.

Backcountry Ski Traverses
The Pinnacle of the ski touring experience
Imagine a self-propelled journey through a mountain range. We offer a variety of ski traverse experiences, from tent based to hut to hut trips. Late winter and early spring are the perfect time to capitalize on longer days, warmer temperatures and well settled snowpacks. Each year, we strap on our pack and head for an adventure or two, join us for a trip of a life time.
Wapta Traverse-
The Wapta traverse travels north-south along the Wapta and Waputik Icefields stopping at four ACC huts along the route. The traditional route, starts Peyto Lake and travels over the glaciated crest of the Rocky Mountain Divide and finishes at Great Divide Lodge below Sherbrooke Lake.

Spearhead Traverse-
A must do for the Coast Range skier. Over the course of three days, we’ll traverse the Spearhead Range, from Blackcomb to Whistler.
Price $675/person +GST max ratio 5 guests per guide
Mount Currie to Wedge Traverse-
We’ll start this trip with a quick heli bump to the summit of Mt Currie and traverse our way back to Blackcomb ski resort. We’ll cross incredible glaciated terrain over the course of 27 km and ride some epic pow along the way.
Price $1300/person +GST max ratio is 6 guests to one guide
Northern Selkirks Traverse-
We’ll start this trip with a helicopter flight into Ventego Lake near the south face of Mt. Iconoclast. Over seven days we’ll travel north and finish either by Stitt Creek or over the Adamants coupled with a flight out from Fairy Meadow.
