Kootenay Gravel Biking
Introducing Kootenay Gravel Weekends
Enjoy two nights accommodation in our off grid cabins or our cottage in Slocan Village, breakfast, dinner, ride fuel and guided rides starting at $700+tax/ person.
These are available to individuals who’d like to join a group and groups who’d like to explore gravel biking in the Kootenays. Minimum group size is three.
Weekends are available starting June 21. Mid-week dates are available upon request for private groups.
For private groups who’d prefer a multi-day gravel/mixed road surface tour of the Kootenays, we provide logistical support, route planning, catering and support vehicles starting at $250/person/day.

We provide a parcours tailored to your style of riding, distance and taste in accommodations. You get curated GPX files and on route suppor. For multi-day Kootenay Gravel tours we provide, catering if you choose, a support vehicle that will carry your gear from start to finish, mid-ride feeds and local knowledge of where to stay, where to eat and good après ride lakeside hangs.
The best part is you don’t have to plan the trip. Tell us what sort of ride you’d like to do and we’ll put together a route plan based on your style of riding.

Gravel Weekend Sample Itinerary
- Arrive in Slocan Friday evening. Enjoy an outdoor farm to table dinner and settle in at your accommodations.
- Saturday A solid pre ride breakfast and ride from Slocan. Swim, Dinner, Relax.
- Sunday Breakfast and the. explore another incredible gravel loop. Finish ride at Slocan Lake, swim, pack up and head home.
- From $700+ GST per person max group size is six clients.
- Includes: Ride day breakfasts, lunches/ ride nutrition, après, dinner, cabin/cottage accommodations, support vehicle and staff

Looking for a destination for a bike trip this summer? Or a hot shower and a roof over your head on your next bike packing adventure?
Come explore the Kootenays on your own time with curated rides based on your style of riding. Tell us what you like to ride and we’ll provide you with vetted GPX routes for you to follow. This is a self guided experience, but rest assured we’ll have recently ridden all the routes we suggest for you.
Our farm stay is the perfect base for your gravel or mountain bike trip in the Kootenays. We provide comfortable accommodations, the option of a private cook, farm to table meals, a wood fired sauna, outdoor shower and remote backcountry access for groups of two to five people.

Accommodations
For bike packing groups of two, we offer lodging at Arctos Guides’ headquarters in off grid cabins that were built from trees harvested and milled on site. There is a wood fired sauna, an outdoor showers and a composting toilets.
We can also accommodate van/car/truck or tent camping. Our private campsites are situated to offer you a quiet and unique experience in a country setting.
Physical Fitness
Gravel biking requires sustained aerobic capacity and core stability to handle rolling terrain and loose surfaces. Riders should be comfortable spending 3 to 6 hours in the saddle and managing consecutive days of climbing.
Experience Level
While previous gravel biking experience isn’t strictly required, riders should have solid bike-handling skills and feel confident descending on unpaved surfaces, loose gravel, and variable terrain.
