World class Backcountry, Long Runs, Big Mountains and Deep Powder
Join us for an epic powder adventure in the heart of Canada’s Columbia and Rocky Mountains. We will follow a route rich in history and steeped in Canadian mountaineering culture. The likes of David Thompson and Major A.B. Rogers explored routes for the fur trade and the Canadian pacific Railway over 150 years ago. Today, major highways trace their steps through the magnificent mountain passes.
Rogers Pass, once home to the Glacier House and Swiss Mountain Guides in the 1880’s, is now one of the epicenters of North American backcountry ski/snowboard culture. Over the course of seven days, we will ski classic lines in Rogers Pass, the Icefields Parkway and the Kicking Horse Mountain resort slackcountry. This package caters to the intermediate to advanced backcountry aficionado who has a discerning taste for quality terrain, small groups and an experienced guide who has pursued the pinnacle of the backcountry experience for nearly twenty years.
Over the course of the week,(and weather depending) we will travel on glaciers, summit mountains, ride some incredible lines and share memorable experiences in some of Canada’s premier backcountry locations. True to the local culture, this is a ski and splitboard mountaineering focused trip; if the weather and snowpack permit, our objectives will be summit-centric and epic descent focused.
The itinerary of this trip is honed to maximize your shred time and the logistics have been carefully organized to make your experience the best it can be. Our days will be filled with with backcountry adventures, our evenings full of local restaurants and local micro-breweries and comfortable accommodations.
Early March is the best time for this trip. Winter storms will have coated the mountains with a deep snowpack that has had time to stabilize. The days are long, giving us plenty of time to realize our objectives. Finally, the riding is still good to valley bottom.
